Kimberly Pray | Attorney

Estate planning | Probate | Trust Administration | Non-Profit Representation

Kimberly has a passion for serving her community and her clients. She represents individuals in estate planning, business succession planning, probate, and trust administration, but also represents tax-exempt organizations who serve our local communities.  Kimberly obtained an advance law degree in tax, which makes her ideally suited to represent clients in these areas of law, as each requires an understanding of the tax implications that could impact a client.

She has experience representing tax-exempt organizations, both large and small, including public charities, private foundations, community foundations, and social welfare organizations. She has advised tax-exempt organizations in a wide variety of contexts, such as qualification for tax-exempt status, corporate governance, political and lobbying activities, grantmaking, excise taxes, unrelated business income tax, joint ventures, for-profit subsidiaries, mission- and program-related investments, and other social enterprise vehicles.

Prior to law school, Kimberly worked in the non-profit sector for nearly a decade. Her position as Director of Development for Ecotrust, a Portland, Oregon-based nonprofit organization led her to pursue a career in tax law with the goal of facilitating social change through philanthropy, business, and social enterprise.

Following law school, Kimberly served as General Counsel at a finance and business-consulting firm serving clients in the clean energy and sustainability sectors. She also worked as an associate attorney for a small local law firm and as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Oregon School of Law.

Kimberly is the Secretary of the Board of the Commons Law Center, a non-profit law firm launched to revolutionize access to basic legal services, information, and support for underserved people. She also serves as Past Chair on the Executive Committee of the OSB Nonprofit Organizations Law Section.

Born and raised in Eugene, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children exploring Portland and the greater Pacific Northwest, practicing Barre3, cycling, playing cello, gardening, and cooking with fresh ingredients grown close to home.

Anne Villella | Retired

Estate planning | Probate | Trust Administration

Anne seeks to provide the same personalized and professional service she would expect.  She comes from a family of entrepreneurs who taught her that focusing 100% on the client is the key to serving clients well and building trust.

“Clients are the heart and soul of my work. They make what I do a joy.”

Anne takes a practical and thoughtful approach to her work. She seeks to understand her clients’ concerns, hopes, and values, as well as their personal financial circumstances.  With this foundation, she can recommend practical estate plans tailored to each client and offer them peace of mind that the plan reflects their vision and values.

Anne grew up in Portland, returning in 1994 to earn her law degree after she and her husband sold two businesses in Everett, Washington.  After law school, Anne clerked at the Oregon Court of Appeals before entering private practice where she found a passion for estate planning, probate and trust administration, as well as small business advising. Anne has been fortunate to combine her passion for both law and teaching by serving as a professor at Lewis & Clark Law School for the past 17 years, where she has taught Wills and Trusts, as well as lawyering skills courses focused on effective and professional communication, research, and writing.  Anne retired from teaching at the end of 2020, to focus on her law practice, while still finding time to enjoy family, friends, and the activities that bring her joy.

An outdoor enthusiast, Anne enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family–including her husband and their two grown children, who both live in Portland. When Anne isn’t serving her clients, spending time outdoors or with her family, you’ll find her serving  as a volunteer mediator or facilitating workshops and retreats.

 Pam Pariani | Retired

Former Practice Areas: Estate planning | Probate | Trust

On December 31, 2016, after eleven years, Pam retired from the practice of law.  Pam was a wonderful colleague who served her clients with grace, professionalism, and care. We will miss Pam’s presence in the office, but we will continue her legacy of client-focused, professional service.

We wish Pam all the best and know that retirement will allow her more time to pursue her passions outside of the law–international travel with a focus on wildlife and natural history,  outrigger canoeing, and spoiling her two Bengal cats, Benny and Henry.

As an attorney Pam dedicated her practice to providing legal services for clients seeking help with trusts, wills, probate, and the administration of trusts and estates.

Pam worked to understand each client’s personal needs and, in turn, offered individualized, thoughtful solutions for her clients. And, she always welcomed the opportunity to consult with her clients’ other trusted professionals, taking a team approach.

As a former corporate vice president, Pam brought a wealth of finance and business expertise to the practice of law. She attended law school following a distinguished business career; earning her J.D. degree was the culmination of a long-held goal. But, being client-focused was always her goal.  As she says, “You might say it’s in my DNA.”   We miss you, Pam, and wish you all the best.
